Tomato Blight

well, apparently not just a bad tomato year for me.  Now I know what the problem is with my tomato plants!  I had noticed some very unusual disease symptoms but thought this was caused in part by the constant wetness and low temperatures.  That certainly helped, but turns out that an unusual tomato blight is wiping out tomatoes across Alberta.  The whole story is here in today's Edmonton Journal.  Very disappointing for many people who look forward to that amazing homegrown tomato harvest. :-(

That explained some of my problems too, I think. Mostly of my problem was the lack of warm temperatures though, I'm sure. Thank goodness for the tomatoes I bought in BC - I finished my first ever batch of salsa today. I think it's pretty tasty :))
